Frequently Asked Questions
What do I do before class?
Please drop your child into the venue before class starts and wait in the parent viewing area until a coach collects the gymnasts. Gymnasts will take shoes and socks off before going on the gym floor and place these in the cubbies, or with their families.
What should I wear to my class?
T-shirts and shorts/leggings are fine, however please avoid buttons and zippers, and long hair must be tied back. Participants may wear a leotard if they prefer. Bare feet is necessary for classes.
What should I bring?
A water bottle with the gymnast’s name labelled on it.
Are your coaches qualified?
All coaches at Reach are nationally accredited with Gymnastics Australia. Coaches must complete a minimum of 6 hours updating each year in order to maintain their registration. All coaches also hold a Working with Children’s check.
Can I stay and watch my child?
Yes! We have a parent viewing area from which you are more than welcome to watch your child. Only gymnasts and staff are allowed within the gymnastics space for safety reasons, however we love parents enjoying watching their child learn!
Can I do a free trial class?
Absolutely! We offer a free trial class for all new members. Just book here.
What if my child is reluctant to join in?
New environments can be overwhelming for children, and so we do our best to ensure children are made to feel welcomed and supported. Some children may need to watch a class before feeling confident enough to join in, which is perfectly fine!
Can I join mid year?
Yes! Enrolments can be made at any stage of the year, subject to class availability.
Can I do a make up class?
We currently offer make up classes for our Kindergym classes only. We will be offering make up classes for all of our after school classes subject to class availability (except for competitive programs due to a lack of suitable alternative class) in 2020.
Can I change my class?
Yes! Subject to class availability, we are more than happy to try to find a class that fits in with your family’s timetable. Please speak to the office at any time to discuss this.
What does the annual registration and insurance fee cover?
The annual registration and insurance fee covers your membership with Gymnastics Australia, Gymnastics Victoria and Reach Gymnastics.
It provides an assurance that you are participating with an affiliated club of Gymnastics Australia for which there are high standards of qualification and compliance.
Through this program registered participants are also covered through Marsh Advantage Insurance for personal injury.
You can view the policy documents and what is covered here. Your registration and insurance expires December 31st each year and is payable for the following year to continue your participation.
Can I enroll into multiple classes?
Yes! If you would like your child to enrol into more classes, please speak to the office. The hourly rate for classes drops with every extra hour enrolled.
Can I take photos of my child?
Yes, you are welcome to take photos of your child from the parent viewing area, though we do ask that you not capture other children in those images without explicit permission.
Are there discounts for siblings?
Yes! We offer a 10% sibling discount (applied to the lowest tuition amount).
I would like to speak to my child’s coach?
We love hearing from our families. Our coaches generally coach back to back classes so if you would like to arrange a time to speak with your child’s coach, please don’t hesitate to email us or alternatively if the situation is urgent, please speak to a member of our Customer Service team at the gym, and we can arrange for a message to be sent to the coach.
